You’re not the only one
Running a business is busy, and bookkeeping is often the first thing to slide. Before you know it there’s a carrier bag of receipts, a brown envelope from HMRC and a deadline looming. It happens to far more people than you’d think – and it’s fixable.
How a catch-up works
- Tell me the situation – in confidence and without judgement.
- Quick review – I’ll look at what records you have and what deadlines are coming up.
- Clear estimate – catch-up work is £25 per hour, and you’ll get an estimate of the hours before any work begins.
- Catch-up – I get your books reconciled and up to date, prioritising anything overdue.
- Stay on track – if you’d like, we move on to a simple monthly service so you never fall behind again.
Particularly useful if…
- You’ve been told you need to join Making Tax Digital and your records aren’t digital yet
- You’re VAT registered and have missed one or more returns
- Your accountant has asked for records you haven’t got ready
- You’re selling your business or applying for a mortgage or loan and need up-to-date figures
Catch-up bookkeeping: frequently asked questions
How far back can you go?
As far as you need. Whether it’s three months or three years, we’ll work backwards from the most urgent deadlines first.
I’ve lost some receipts. Is that a problem?
Usually not. Bank statements, supplier portals and email invoices can fill most of the gaps. Where something truly can’t be found, I’ll explain the options.
Can you stop HMRC penalties?
I can’t promise penalties will be cancelled, but filing overdue returns quickly stops more penalties building up, and where there’s a reasonable excuse I can help you appeal.
