My story

I’m Amy. I’m based in Verwood, and I’ve been trading as Knights Book Keeping since 2016. I’ve always loved the moment a box of receipts and a tangle of bank statements turns into neat, balanced books – there’s something really satisfying about bringing order to the chaos.

A lot of my clients are builders and trades, so payroll, CIS and VAT are my bread and butter. I enjoy helping local tradespeople get their CIS returns and VAT right first time, so there are no nasty surprises from HMRC.

I like to keep things simple and personal. My work phone is my own mobile, so you can call or WhatsApp me with a quick question instead of waiting days for a reply. Whether it’s setting up Xero and Dext or looking after your £31-a-month MTD plan, my aim is always the same: to take the paperwork off your plate, so you can spend your time on your business – not on HMRC.

What I specialise in

Payroll – weekly or monthly payroll, RTI submissions, pensions and auto-enrolment, run like a small, personal payroll bureau.
CIS – monthly returns, subcontractor verification and deduction statements for contractors, plus helping subcontractors reclaim what they’re owed.
VAT – accurate, on-time MTD VAT returns, including the domestic reverse charge for construction work.

I also look after everyday bookkeeping, Making Tax Digital, self assessment and year-end preparation for your accountant.

Xero Certified Advisor

I’m a Xero Certified Advisor, which means I’ve completed Xero’s own training and certification. In practice, that means I can set Xero up properly for your business, connect your bank feeds and receipt apps, build rules that save you time, and train you or your team to use it with confidence. I also work with QuickBooks and Sage if that’s what you already use.
